WHAT IS INTROMENTAL MANAGEMENT?
The primary goal for Intromental Management is to introduce our bands to record-companies and media. A service that has resulted in distribution-, licensing- and record deals as well as good reviews, interviews and radio-airplay for numerous of our bands.

We also offer to help out on matters of financial and legal character, mailorder-sale, distribution-deals and we guide our bands through the process of presenting their material in the best possible way.

We have chosen to work with a limited amount of bands at a time, so to give the bands the best work possible. We believe in both quality and quantity, but we strive to let the former rule the day. We don't have any specific criteria for our bands to fulfil, since every individual band have certain qualities, but we expect full commitment to the music, and an attitude and expression that will not only convince the labels but also the record buying public.
WHO ARE INTROMENTAL?
In 1996 the management was established by Claus, when he decided to leave his journalist-position at Metalized Magazine, (which were the biggest metal magazine in Denmark). He wanted to continue within the business and had three possible ways to go - either to form another magazine, form a record label, or do a management. Since he always has had close contact to a lot of musicians, he decided this was the route to go.

Then Claus got hold of a bunch of other guys within the business, someone that was to be trusted in, and together we continued building up Intromental Management.

Today we have 4 guys working in our European office:
* Lars F Larsen (Copenhagen, Denmark)
* Mads Jeppsen (Copenhagen, Denmark)
* Martin Jørgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark)
* Benjamin A Genach (Copenhagen, Denmark)

And we have 3 guys working in our US offices:
* Claus Jensen (Raleigh, North Carolina)
* Glenn Harveston (Atlanta, Georgia)
* Hoyt Parris (Atlanta, Georgia)
WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOUR BAND?
- Booking of concerts/tours/festivals in and around Europe.
...We have good experience in the Scandinavian scene, and in the rest of Europe we often would prefer to work in close contact with one of the big international booking agencies.

- Booking of concerts outside of Europe.
...Not our main market for booking, but we can easily work together with a company in the given territory.

- Supplying tour manager.
... We have our own tour manager, who will be present at tours - this will make sure no "stupid" problems gets in the way for the band who on tour will have to focus 200% on the show.

- Promotion in connection with tours.
... We will make sure that good press coverage will be applied to each tour, and of course also make sure the band isn't doing too much press-interviews while on tour, so to spare the band from being exhausted.

- Promotion of your band at media.
...We will often work very close with your potential record label on things like this. Meaning, we will coordinate all promotion with the label. Make sure the band is ALWAYS in the attention of the media and fans, and coordinate interviews etc. We have a huge list (more than 300 magazines, radios, webzines…) of media people to work with. We will of course also do our best at collecting all relevant media response for the band.

- Promotion of your band on the internet.
... We will make sure your band is heavily featured on websites and in webzines.

- Building a web page at www.intromental.com/bandname/.
... Our site is well visited and will provide good interest for the band name. We have a very professional webmaster, whose design is easy to look at and very nice.

- Creating different layout for the band.
... Not only do we have good contacts to various artwork designers, but we also will be able to work together with the potential record label on making good advertisements, posters, flyers, stickers, etc.

- Help in choosing producer team, recording facilities etc.
...We know a lot of people in the business...

- Shopping material at labels.
... We have extremely large lists of labels to chose from, (more than 150 labels). We make great looking promotional packages that we shop around to the labels, and we always get response back from labels.

- Contractual advice.
... We have great knowledge as to how a contract should be like, and we will work with the band from what contract they might have with third party (label) and help better things.

- Make mechanical royalties payable to the band.
... Contact with GEMA, ASCAP, Harry Fox or whatever company connected to the specific bands mechanical/publishing royalties.

- Close contact with record label.
... Usually bands don't know how to deal with record labels, and we take full control over what happens here. We also find it very important that the bands concentrate their energy on what is important - making music - and let other people take care of the business. We take care of all kinds of label issues, contracts/accounting/deadlines/promotion etc.

- Day-to-day contact with the band.
... We keep close contact to the IM bands - and most of them we speak with almost every day, either through phone or email/icq/whatever... We try to give the band as much update as possible, so you won't feel like "things have passed you by" ... You are the band, and you need to know what we have been doing for you within the last couple of days. Often the bands will come up with new ideas, and those go into our plans immediately. We do not throw away any ideas just because it is something we "haven't tried before..."! Nothing we plan on doing will be done without the bands agreement, if it's of vital nature to the band.

- "Full 24 hours problem-saver".
... If anything extremely important problem arises, then the band can always get in contact with at least one of us.

- Being part of a "family".
... Actually an important issue - we want all IM bands to feel part of a big family. Therefore we arrange as much as possible, where the bands can get together; be it festivals, project bands or our annual 3-day party.
WHAT WE CAN "NOT" DO FOR YOUR BAND
We have to tell you that most of our bands either have an economical consultant (accountant) or a lawyer connected. Doing your band economy or your taxes is not something we will be able to take care off - imagine us be running 15+ bands different tax schemes or internal accountings - it would never be good enough. We do not have a Masters degree in accounting.

However, we advice all bands to hire an accountant, and of course we will help as much as we can. Undoubtedly we have a good deal of experience within this field, but we will not be able to take care of your tax situation.

We are sure there are other things as well that we can not do *SSS* But - problems are there to be solved and a good cooperation between management and band makes most problems disappear rather easily :0)
OUR CONDITIONS
We expect the band to be productive - we do not like to work with bands who don't "live" for the music... meaning, that if a band decides to "slow" down for a longer period, instead of concentrating on their music, we feel kind of misused or perhaps even out-of-place. We need you to stay active all the time; rehearsing, writing new material, recording, promoting releases or touring.

We expect the band to be honest towards us - as mentioned before - we want another "family" member. Of course there will (and should be) a difference between friendship and professional relationships, but it is also important that we can work together and be honest towards each other.

We expect the band to DEMAND things from us - i.e. we need you to ask us about anything on your mind, to ask us to do stuff for you, and NOT to just think we are two steps ahead of you all the time.

We do not tell the band that their material should sound like this or like that, just because it is what we personally like. However, we might be giving small "hints" as to whether the new material will be good enough, commercial enough, produced well enough or whatever we might find in the bands best interest.

We do not exclude the band from working together with a local booking agent in your area, or setting up concerts/gigs by yourself. Neither do we hinder you in arranging interviews yourself. The only thing that we demand is to be notified of all such happenings.
FINANCIAL TERMS OF WORKING WITH INTROMENTAL MANAGEMENT
We expect a certain percentage of the bands income on actual royalties from products developed or promoted while being at contractual obligation with Intromental. We also expect a certain percentage of income on tours/concerts booked through Intromental.

You are welcome to ask more questions … Our job is to make you feel comfortable about working with Intromental - nothing more, nothing less :0)

INTROMENTAL STAFF
Claus Jensen, Managing Director
- handles the general things, and makes all final decisions, takes care of contracts, handles most of our webdesign, do different layout tasks and takes personal care of most of our bands himself. He has worked as a journalist for Metalized Magazine as well as he has been working in the Metalized Record Shop for a lot of years. Although he has an education as Agricultural Consultant, he has decided to focus all his life on the Metal-music he loves so much. Claus's taste is very diverse, ranging from melodic hard rock to black metal, but mostly focused on progressive and symphonic metal.

Lars F. Larsen, Promotional Director
- takes care of our accounting, our overall promotion and a lot of contact with the different recordlabels. Lars is the definition of "metal"! This guy has long hair and big arms. Lars has tons of attitude and a great understanding for the metal scene and how to make things happen. He takes care of our promotion campaigns and is also the boss' right hand - so to speak. Lars is besides all that also the vocalist of the band Manticora.

Glenn Harveston, Promotion Director USA
- Glenn will be in charge of our US department with his primary objectives being talent acquisition, artist promotion and development, and establishing a touring presence across North America. Through his company, HoS Productions, Glenn is the man behind the prestigious ProgPower USA festival for the past eight years.

Benjamin A Genach, Promotional Manager
- is the one handling our contact with the foreign labels that we promote in Scandinavia. Together with Martin he arranges interviews, collects reviews and playlists, and he ads some good-spirited humour to the offices. Benjamin always has a positive look on life and he works in a shipping company as sales agent and managing director in his day-time job.

Martin Jørgensen, Promotional Manager
- Martin works as a webdesigner in his "other job", but here at Intromental he is mainly taking care of our merchandise sale, our webzine as well as helping Benjamin with the promotion department.

Mads Jeppsen, Promotion Manager
- Mads is a young guy we've known for a couple of years, and we've always appreciated his big interest in the music scene and enthusiasm for helping out here at the office. So now we've asked the guy to join us. At first he's gonna be involved in the webzine, but we're definitely gonna incorporate his skills (whatever they may be, hehe) into the rest of the management :-)

CLAUS JENSEN

Playlist all time top 10:
1) Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes
2) Voivod - Nothingface
3) Orphaned Land - Mabool
4) Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans
5) Celtic Frost - Into The Pandemonium
6) Dream Theater - Images And Words
7) Psychotic Waltz - Into The Everflow
8) Fates Warning - Parallels
9) Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
10) Watchtower - Control And Resistance

Comments: Music is my life - that's it! Whether it's metal or more rock-orientated stuff I don't care, as long as it's "progressive" in it's own way. Defining the word progressive is a hard task , and it has been used and abused to a great extent. For me it means transcending borders of originality - which is why I regards Tori Amos as the most important musician in the world today. Within the metal world not many bands have that "progressive originality" - but the ones who try to make something like this, gets my full support.

LARS F. LARSEN

Playlist all time top 10:
1) Metallica - …And Justice For All
2) King Diamond - Them
3) Angra - Temple Of Shadows
4) Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
5) Gamma Ray - Land Of The Free
6) Blind Guardian - Nightfall In Middle Earth
7) Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys, part I
8) Nevermore - Politics of Ecstacy
9) Dream Theater - Awake
10) Testament - The Legacy

Comments: All these records have in one way or the other been milestones in their own genre, creating new followers of metal through the years. They have certainly painted my ideas of what`s METAL and what`s not. Choosing only 10 top albums is so hard, but being a musician myself, I have chosen the albums that have influenced me both as a singer and as a true METALfan. Another thing is: All these albums are original - for me the most important word in any aspect of music. Too much rip off will slowly destroy the scene, so let`s hail it for the original masters - my top 10!!

GLENN HARVESTON

3) Queensryche - Rage for Order
4) The Eagles - Desperado
5) Black Sabbath - Heaven & Hell
6) Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
7) Metallica - Master of Puppets

BENJAMIN A. GENACH

Playlist all time top 10:
1) Vivaldi – The Four Seasons
2) Dream Theater – Images And Words
3) Rhapsody – Legendary Tales
4) Symphony X – The Divine Wings Of Tragedy
5) Shadow Gallery – Tyranny
6) Sieges Even – Sophisticated
7) Tourniquet – Stop The Bleeding
8) Iced Earth – Burnt Offerings
9) Falconer – Falconer
10) Blind Guardian – Nightfall In Middle Earth

Comments: For me music is everything around me! It is one of the most essential things in my life that takes me through hard times and even good times. Secondly the minds behind the creation of music are the ones that I salute. The reason why I have chosen Vivaldi as number 1 on my playlist is mostly because his is a major inspiration source for me. Secondly he knew how to describe the emotions of the weather and the seasons, with which you easily can describe human feelings as well. The metal bands that I have chosen are those who I believe in their own way are similar to the classic elements of music varieties from classic stuff to the elements of jazz and simply because they rule. It would have been a list for at least 50 bands if I should write down all the genres for metal that like! I still listen to old school hard rock such as Kiss, Poison & Whitesnake etc. But they could never maintain a place next to the ones chosen on my top 10. Remember it is not music that is bad, but the composers.

MARTIN JØRGENSEN

Playlist all time top 10:
1) Symphony X – Divine Wings of Tragedy
2) Children of Bodom – Hatebreeder
3) Blind Guardian – Nightfall in Middle-Earth
4) Dream Theater – Scenes from a Memory
5) Sieges Even - Sophisticated
6) Rhapsody – Legendary Tales
7) Iced Earth – Horror Show
8) Psychotic Waltz – A Social Grace
9) Angra – Rebirth
10) Symphony X – V

Comments: Music means everything to me, and all my albums have a sentimental value to me. Especially the albums mentioned above. Whether I’m feeling down, happy, angry, psychotic(!), I bid welcome the helping hand music always offers me. I don’t care what kind of music it is, as long as I can relate to it. There has to be a melody and I have to feel that the musicians playing it are playing with their hearts, because REAL music comes from inside – REAL music is personal.

MADS JEPPSEN

Playlist all time top 10:
1) Death - Symbolic
2) Mekong Delta - Dances of Death (and other walking shadows)
3) Time Machine - ACT II : Galileo
4) Queensryche - Operation : Mindcrime
5) Metallica - Kill 'Em All
6) Rush - Power Windows
7) Spiral Architect - A Sceptic's Universe
8) Beyond Twilight - The Devil's Hall of Fame
9) Manticora - Hyperion
10) Coheed & Cambria - Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV

Comments: I love music in all its shapes and forms; be it metal/rock in all its diversity, intelligent hiphop, classical, blues, pop, funk or electronica, I like certain things about each genre. Metal, though, is my preferred genre, because it comes in all shapes and forms with no musical boundaries. Here you see elements from all other genres combined with energy and musical virtuosity along with intelligent lyrics. To me music is medication for the soul, because it makes you feel better when you are sad, it can pump your veins with adrenaline, and it can make you happy. All the records above either have an emotional and sentimental value to me, or I am just in awe of the technical abilities and bold compositions in the art that has been made.

HOYT PARRIS

1) AC/DC – Back in Black
2) Accept – Balls to the Wall
3) Iron Maiden - Powerslave

5) Savatage – Hall of the Mountain King
6) Sanctuary – Refuge Denied
7) Overkill – Years of Decay
8) Iced Earth – Burnt Offerings
9) Therion – Theli
