Enough with all the mallcore and angrier-than-though stuff that calls itself "metal" these days. With WIDOW we have a band capable of bringing both the young music fans and all the old rockers together, in order to celebrate that one thing we all love; good music with a positive spirit and a lot of fun! This is timeless heavy metal - for the kids, for you, for me and perhaps even for our parents.

Formed in the early 2000's and with a continous string of high quality releases throughout the last decade, North Carolina based heavy metal act WIDOW is one of the very best examples of how the classic heavy metal sound once captured by bands such as Saxon, Mercyful Fate, Iron Maiden, Icon, Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne, lives on in the young bands of today with just as much vigor as it did back in the 80's.

From the early youthful beginnings with the 2003 debut release "Midnight Strikes" to the awesomeness enclosed in 2007's "Nightlife", WIDOW has been a true representation of what traditional metal is all about; fun, attitude, great skills and melodies that we all can hum along with.

WIDOW quickly succeeded building up a following, not just through their great releases that found their home all around the world, from Japan to Italy, from Brazil to Canada - but very much also through their energetic live shows, which has graced many a stage from the local towns of North Carolina to the roaring metropolis in Germany.

Heralded by a.o. Metal Hammer as one of the leaders of the current "heavy metal revival", NC's long standing metal stalwarts WIDOW have promised to not only to lead the new wave of traditional metal, but also to still be around long after this trend has run its course.

Now the 3 guys that make up the band Widow, have released and done lots of touring for their latest album, 2011's amazing "Life's Blood", and are raising the bar of other examples of today's new wave of traditional metal, such as White Wizzard, Holy Grail, Enforcer, Cauldron, Steelwing and what else is out there. Let's not kid ourselves, the scene is full of young bands who are taking back the metal, and we should all be proud of that - but for those who doubt; WIDOW is the real deal, not just another band jumping the on board the bandwagon, but a band that will also be here once the fad dies out ...
